Photographers road trip - Iceland

A trip designed for those who want to chase the light, to find the Northern lights & see them dance, to see the best of Iceland & capture it on camera

For those who know their kit and are happy to keep it flexible so we can chase the best of the weather, the light, the stars and the aurora

The aim of this trip is to chase the light, to find the best weather & conditions possible to see Iceland at its finest. We keep it light and flexible, allowing us to maximise our chance of getting amazing photographs of the ‘Land of Ice & Fire’

This is a road trip aimed at those wanting to be shown Iceland though a photographers eyes. Its also a trip to talk photography, editing, composition & travel to other like minded souls.

A great adventure, a once in a lifetime experience,
an amazing way to experience Iceland

A large waterfall cascading from a cliff into a dark river below, with a small person standing at the base for scale, in a black and white photo.
Sunset over the ocean with reflections on the water and a rock in the foreground.

This is a flexible trip that allows us to follow the best of the weather and chase the conditions, stars & aurora so we can ensure the maximum chance of getting the shots we are after and capturing the best of the Icelandic landscape.

We book a large, capable minibus and we only book accommodation as we go. We use a combination of guesthouses, hostels (good ones), lodges and apartments and on the trip, prioritising covering some miles and capturing Iceland. Due to there being more than one one driver, we can take turns and really cover some miles.  Doing it this way means that by using the Icelandic MET service and all the other apps and tools we can chase the best of the weather, light, aurora & stars and really concentrate on capturing the Iceland in the best conditions we can find, only being made possible by not being pre booked 300 miles away from where the aurora is happening.
Although we will be trying to visit as many locations as possible, we will always take our time and spend quality time at each location, allowing you time to really work on getting those once in a lifetime shots.  We will be on hand to help with any questions at all times too.

This trip is aimed at those who have their own kit and have a decent understanding on how to use it.  By no means do you need to be a professional photographer but the focus of this trip is photography and everything will be based around us getting the best shots possible, in the best light and conditions possible.

Guidance happily given but this is not a tuition trip. Should you want to come to the Lake District for tuition first then check out our tuition page and let’s have a chat
