Who we are
Ben Bush is a professional landscape and astronomy photographer from the Northern Fells of Cumbria, where he continues to live and work in the heart of the Lake District. His photography is driven by a passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world—by day through dramatic landscapes, and by night through the vast, star-filled skies above.
Ben’s work blends the rugged charm of the Lake District with the wonder of the cosmos. From golden-hour light on the fells to long exposures of the Milky Way and Northern Lights, he aims to share moments that connect people to both place and sky. In 2019, he won the People & Space category in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year awards, a turning point that allowed him to pursue photography full-time.
Always by his side are his four dogs—Floyd, Red, Luna, and Frida. Floyd, the eldest, is father to Red, and together with Luna and Frida they join him on nearly every shoot. Their presence adds warmth and authenticity to his images, reflecting a deep bond with the landscape they explore together. They live with Carlie & Ben in the Western Lake District.
Ben also supports local makers by working exclusively with small Cumbrian businesses for all printing and framing. His photography is a celebration of light, land, stars, and the companionship that makes each adventure meaningful.
